Rebecca suggested having the fundraiser along with the Fall conference. The event will probably be held in late September. Jill Stallworth volunteered to chair the event. He checked into the Robert Trent Jones course in Montgomery and wants $72 per player. Jimmy mentioned the golf tournament fundraiser leading up to the fall conference. Jimmy stated that everyone makes sure they have the current solicitation letter. Nick Ward suggested going to local grocery stores for Boston butt donations. Laralee Pennington suggested informing attendees that we will serve pork at the workshop, so those who don’t eat pork will know before the event. Nick Ward stated that he could donate two. Michelle asked where we stand with Boston Butts donations. He also stated that he was considering the Poarch Creek Indians who donated in 2017. Eddie Swindall stated that the vendor committee is looking into some old vendors interested in participating again this year. It was confirmed that the theme will be “Making a Difference” for the spring workshop. Jimmy asked if there were any committee reports, and Roderick Chambers stated that the program committee would like to go ahead and get everything finalized so that he can send out the Save-the-date. Jimmy asked that everyone check on places so that we can have a location within the next week. Shawn Byrd stated that he would check out some places in Tuscaloosa. Rebecca Bensema suggested moving the workshop to a state park. Leslie Billings suggested moving it to the Gardendale Civic Center. Michelle Patrick stated that it would be better to move the location of the Spring Workshop. Roderick stated that we might need to find another place to have the workshop because the Doster Center is unwilling to provide the additional room for registration unless we pay an additional $500. The cost will be $560 plus $119 for insurance for the one-day event. The spring workshop has been scheduled for April 12, 2023, at the Doster Center.
